Diving the kelp, a quiet sit, a low-tide walk
- PCH is the hazard, not the water. Use the tunnel near Malibu Seafood instead of darting across the lanes.
- The beach is skinny and rocky in places. That is why the kelp sits close. Look before you swim; big west days close it out.
- Low water opens the pools. It was given in memory of Dan Blocker — the county still posts that name on the lot.
How to arrive · Malibu Canyon to PCH, west a mile. Shoulder parking in the 26000 block, or the small county lot. Do not stop in the travel lane.
