Minus tide, caves dripping. One ochre star the color of wet rust. Replaced every rock. Drove home with salt in my hair and did not turn the radio on.

Twenty-two minutes on the bluff after a bad week. Pelicans working the west side. The islands were a rumor in the haze. This counted.
